San Francisco, California: On June 1, 2024, Gumbo Social will celebrate its first year in business at its brick-and-mortar restaurant, located at 5176 3rd St. in San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood.
The event will feature live music, special guests, Bayview food vendors, a DJ, and more. The African American Arts and Cultural District will also open its doors to further activate the community celebration.
"Our goal is to celebrate Gumbo Social's 1st anniversary, support other Bayview-based businesses, and activate the block and our community," said Chef Dontaye Ball, owner of Gumbo Social. “It’s a win for us to hit our first year in business, a milestone that some said would be impossible.”
Gumbo Social first opened its doors on June 3, 2023, after a successful Kickstarter campaign and overcoming several challenging hurdles to opening.
